Motor & Propeller DirectionUpdated a month ago
Correct motor and propeller direction is essential for stable flight. If even one prop is installed incorrectly, the drone will not lift off or will flip immediately.
1. Motor Direction
In the Motors tab in Betaflight, you can see the motor layout and rotation direction.

There are two common setups:
Props-In – Front motors spin inward (toward the center).
Props-Out – Front motors spin outward.
All BNFs from iFlight are shipped in the Props-Out Configuration by default and come with the propeller direction indicators installed, as seen in this picture.

2. Propeller Direction
Each propeller is designed for a specific rotation direction:
CW (Clockwise), labeled with an R on the prop
CCW (Counter-Clockwise), labeled without an R on the prop
Props are labeled and must match the motor’s rotation direction.
The Gemfan 51377 CW Prop is labelled as 51377R, the CCW Prop is labelled as just 51377.
Install the propeller tight according to the motor direction, and you are ready for takeoff.
